A zip screen uses a zipper rail for wind-proof sealing. Roller screens are the most minimal-looking option when open — the cassette is slim and barely visible, and the window is completely unobstructed. Zip screens are superior for wind-prone large balcony openings.
Yes — roller screens work well for medium to large windows. Spring-loaded rollers are ideal for windows up to 2.5m wide; motorized rollers can handle up to 4m. For very large, exposed balcony openings in high-rise apartments, we recommend our Ziptrack system for superior wind resistance.
Roller mosquito screens mount on the outer face of your window frame — so they don't interfere with interior curtains, blinds, or shutters inside the room. This makes them compatible with any interior window treatment you already have.
With the screen closed (mesh extended down), gently wipe the mesh with a soft damp cloth. Clean the aluminium cassette housing with a dry cloth. For SS304 mesh, a gentle brush works well. Roll the screen up and down a few times after cleaning to ensure smooth operation.
For casement (hinged) windows that open inward, we recommend a fixed-frame or pleated screen rather than a roller screen, as the roller cassette would obstruct the window opening. Our technician will advise the best solution during the free site visit.
